Hands Stained with Flour

Unpublished

Isabel and Adela are torn between political activism and personal survival in the inhumane conditions of an overcrowded women’s prison at the end of the Spanish civil war. Believing that Franco’s days are numbered, they organise and educate the women. As freedom teases on the horizon, prison life is punctuated by spurts of magical resistance. But will their efforts be enough to prevent them from losing their loved ones?
