Broken
by Elizabeth Challinor
Don't be fooled by strident voices, wide smiles and bold strides
We are all broken inside
Don't set your successful self aside from the wretched sight of misery
You may cross the street to avoid its empty gaze
Spin your protective cocoon
But soon you will see
There is no getting away from vulnerability
The magical metamorphosis of the caterpillar
Brings forth fourteen delicate days of butterfly life
To be lived to the full, for sure
Fourteen days of meta jubilation
Pollination
Spreading the good news
To be broken inside
And discover the courage to sit with the pieces
Is the greatest gift of being alive
