Into the Deep Dark Sea
by Elizabeth Challinor
She shook the colours off her shoulders
They slid in rainbow slices down her body
And settled on a heap in the sand
She lifted her head up high
And began to run
Towards the deep dark sea
No horizon
Pitch black sky
Nothing to see
She plunged into the waters
No need to open or close her eyes
In surrendered anticipation
Of the delicious unknown
