Witness II

Witness II

by Elizabeth Challinor

She woke up laughing

To the sound of thunder

Clapping

In her soul

Relieved from the burden of her pain

It had not gone away

It was still there

But running behind it

To take shelter from the rain

She had found a wide armchair

Sat down to watch

And woke up

For you my second sister
