It was Raining
by Elizabeth Challinor
I was busy
Working hard
Burnt out
By dreams
Built on the shaky architecture of other people's plans
Until that day
It was raining
When I missed the bus
Forgot my umbrella
Allowed the rain to rain down
Watched hope
Wink at expectation
Told my landlord I was moving out
And felt the taste of tomorrow
Awaken my senses
